Wrong place to visit with kids. Ugly,dirty and Smoggy!!
Let me see, Tijuana has drug murders almost daily, is one of the dirtiest places there is. You have a good chance of getting mugged at Rosarito Beach. Why would anyone want to expose their children to this.

tijuana,and the beach are fairly safe same as anywhere !
as far as tijuana ,stay in the marketa area ,plenty to see and do such as the museums ,shopping centers,and the food courts,some of the schools ,offer tours of their facility-activities for the exhcange student . the beach ,is great ! food ,activities ,and the best service -just don’t abuse the workers ,
IT CAN BE GRAT IF YOU ARE IN A TURISTIC AREA.
But if is your first time in mexico dont go to tijuana, allmost all border towns are horrible.
If you want great beaches in mexico go inestead too:
Los Cabos (4 hours from tijuana)
Mazatlan
Cancun (The best beaches of the world, over there is the best beach in the world, transparent sea)
Cozumel (really hot)
Acapulco (a little dirty)
Safe during the day, but not after dark. Dont walk back to border over the bridge after dark. Bus to rosarito leaves from teh bus terminal on revolution. you can take shuttle from us side parking lot there or walk there. cheap ride to rosarito. your probably safer with kids then without them by yourself. they dont mess with families down there.
